PSL Custom Wine Cellar handles residential wine cellar installation in Port St. Lucie, FL for collectors who are tired of stacking bottles in the hall closet or the garage fridge. Most homes already have a spot that would make a great cellar, and it just needs the right shell, cooling and racking to work in Florida.
Home installs usually fit into one of these spaces:
Every home install is planned around the collection, so magnums, Champagne and full cases each get a spot that fits. The room is sealed and insulated before the racks go in, and the cooling unit is picked for quiet running since most cellars sit right off a living space.
Home installs run across 10+ Treasure Coast communities, from Tradition and St. Lucie West to Stuart, and the first in-home visit is free.

These design concepts show how a residential wine cellar installation can turn an everyday room, closet or bar into the spot guests remember.

DESIGN CONCEPT · VERANO
Once the work-from-home days ended, this Verano homeowner had a 10 by 11 foot office sitting empty and a collection outgrowing every closet in the house. The plan reframes and insulates the room, swaps the French doors for a single insulated glass door and adds a quiet ductless unit. Redwood racks wrap 3 walls around a small tasting nook, holding about 800 bottles.
Estimated budget: $42,000
Estimated timeline: 2 weeks of millwork, 9 days on site

DESIGN CONCEPT · LAKE CHARLES
A Lake Charles family had a 4 by 5 foot coat closet by the front door that mostly held umbrellas and beach chairs. The plan insulates and seals it, adds a through-wall cooling unit that vents into the garage and lines it with label-forward metal racking behind a glass door. It now holds about 180 bottles and greets guests the moment they walk in.
Estimated budget: $9,800
Estimated timeline: 1 week of prep, 3 days on site

DESIGN CONCEPT · HOBE SOUND
This Hobe Sound living room had a wet bar with a lonely mini-fridge doing all the work. The plan replaces it with a built-in glass wine wall that has its own self-contained cooling, LED backlighting and cabinetry finished to match the rest of the bar. About 260 bottles sit at serving temperature within arm's reach of the sofa.
Estimated budget: $24,500
Estimated timeline: 3 weeks of fabrication, 4 days on site

01
Every home cellar starts with a 3D layout built around the room and the collection inside it. Racking, lighting and finishes are picked to match the rest of the house so the cellar feels like it belongs.

02
Spare bedrooms, offices and bonus rooms become full wine rooms with sealed walls, insulated doors and space for a tasting table. We handle the framing, insulation and finish work as one project.

03
Small spaces make some of the best cellars, with racks cut to follow the stair angle or fill every inch of a closet. Most hold 150 to 300 bottles with a compact cooling unit venting to the next room.

04
Racks come in mahogany, redwood or powder-coated metal, mixing single slots, magnum spaces, case bins and display rows. Every layout leaves room for the collection to keep growing.

05
Home cooling units are sized to the room and chosen for quiet running, since most cellars sit next to a living space. Ducted and ductless systems keep the compressor well out of earshot.

06
Glass wine walls turn a dining room or entry into a showcase, with insulated panels and sealed doors to stop condensation. LED lighting puts the labels on display without warming the bottles.
Closets and under-stair cellars usually run $8,500 to $18,000, glass wine rooms $20,000 to $60,000 and walk-ins $25,000 to $70,000. Each quote is itemized, with payment split 30/50/20 across the build.
Most home cellars take 4 to 8 weeks from the first call to the first bottle on the rack. That covers the consult, a 3D layout within a week and 3 to 6 weeks of building.
Closets usually hold 150 to 300 bottles, spare rooms 500 to 1,000 and larger dedicated rooms well beyond that, depending on rack style and how many display rows you want.
Mahogany, walnut and redwood suit classic rooms, while powder-coated metal pegs suit modern ones. Most homes mix individual slots with display rows and a few case bins.
A 2-year workmanship warranty covers the racking, door seals, vapor barrier and installation work. The cooling unit is also backed by its WhisperKOOL or CellarPro manufacturer warranty.
Installs that add circuits, change walls or put in new cooling equipment usually need a permit from the City of Port St. Lucie Building Department, which is checked during the first visit.
